Lots of people say moving home is one of the top ten most stressful events in your life, particularly in comparison to the thrill of finding and buying a house to move to in the first place.
When it comes to moving house in Tameside or investing in property, there are a huge number of options available to you; whether you’re looking for cosy, rustic cottages or swanky new build developments.
On a recent catch up with one of my landlords, the subject turned to the most popular areas in Tameside where people like to live. Of course, each town in the borough has its certain hotspots, but what about the specifics? How about the exact streets and new development locations?
Before I set about researching this article, my intuition and knowledge of housing in the borough depicted which streets in Tameside would see the highest number of residents coming and going. However, this was primarily based on the bigger picture (ie, 20 years, something I’ll certainly post about in the coming weeks). For the shorter term (24 months), the results are actually quite surprising.
So, which street or road in Tameside has put themselves through one of the most stressful moments in their life over the last 2 years? Which street has seen the most home moves and experienced the trials of moving home?
With no surprise, some of Tamesider’s longer roads feature. King Street in Dukinfield, a handful of the Stockport Roads (including Ashton’s and Denton’s) and Eason Way all contribute to this.
Yet ahead of Eason Way are Bridgewater Wharf in Droylsden, as well as Sgt Mark Stansfield Way in Hyde.
Both of these are new-build developments feature a variety of property types and are situated in prime locations. Bridgewater Wharf offers the tranquil relaxing feeling of living by the canal, whilst Sgt Mark Stansfield Way is ideal for families looking for a wealth of local Tameside schools.
In the second part of this blog coming soon, I’ll be breaking the results down into each area of Tameside to reveal the results for each town, as well as which street has seen the highest value of property trade hands.
