The development, situated next to Hattersley train station, will see 88 new homes built across four sites.
The application was previously submitted to Tameside Council in November, with the consultations expected to conclude in February. The target date for the final decision of the development is currently set as 9 April 2018.
Set to be constructed by Barratt Homes, the new development will be divided across four sites situated either side of Hattersley Road West; making up the fourth phase of the area’s ongoing regeneration. The homes will be built on land previously occupied by high rise apartments, which were demolished prior to the next stage in the area’s regeneration.
The previous residential development was demolished in the early 2000’s, with the sites lying derelict since.
The new development will consist of over 10 different property types, ranging from 2 – 4 bedroom houses.
The development will also feature a heavy emphasis on the reduction of water consumption and energy, with low energy light fittings implemented in each property. They will also feature flow restrictors on taps and showers, as well as dual-flush toilets in a bid to keep water usage down to less than 125L per person per day.
Similar properties as part of the new developments in the area include apartments and flats on sale from £70,000 – £90,000, and a variety of two/three/four bedroom properties ranging from £150,000 – £215,000.
